Today 4th graders put their learning into action with our Ecosystem Competition! Students explored what animals need to survive as they competed for the resources they needed to stay alive. 🌎🐾 And the Turkey Buzzards came out on top, winning 2 out of 3 classes! 🏆🦃 A fun way to learn about ecosystems, competition, and survival! 💚🔬

🔥 It’s National Fire Prevention Week (October 4th–10th)! 🔥
Safety begins at home! This week, St. Landry Parish School District is highlighting essential fire safety tips to help keep our students, families, and community safe.
Take a moment to review these key safety practices with your family:
🚨 Test Alarms Monthly: Press the test button on all smoke alarms every month.
🚗 Plan 2 Ways Out: Create and practice a home escape plan with two exits from every room.
🍳 Watch Your Cooking: Never leave food unattended on the stovetop.
🔥 Give Heaters 3 Feet: Keep space heaters at least three feet from anything that can burn.
🏃‍♂️ Get Out, Stay Out: Once you escape a fire, go to your family meeting spot and never re-enter the building.
Let’s work together to practice fire safety every day! 🚒👨‍🚒

Ms. Byrom's kindergarteners mixed a little literature, science, math, art, and a whole lot of fun!

We read The Leaf Thief, built a tree with all its parts, counted our leaves while practicing numbers to ten, and discovered why those sneaky little leaves keep falling off the trees.

Who knew that one little squirrel and missing leaves could lead to so much learning!

Hands on and a little messy...kindergarten at its best!
